Abstract
Abstract in english
The woman and her body. A fight against society, roles, and gazes. This work’s origin is the assault and the aim is freedom. It discusses the violence against women and their bodies. Bodies that carry expectations of pleasure and reproduction, as receivers and not by choice. Bodies used as combat tools and as areas of negotiation. The art installation A WOMAN IN PAIN speaks not only from within, but also along the voices that have spoken up and the ones that did not have the strength or the time to be heard. It is a testimony, a liberation. It relates to pain. Violence. The after. The life that is restricted inside the trauma of abuse. It is for those of us who need to witness our pain laid out clearly before us. As it truly is. Unapologetically. The work explores the sensations that stay after an abuse, wether as imprints, or as active elements of the body. I attempt to present the female body in fragments, highlighting the passage of violence, while employing simple, inexpensive, and at times seemingly light materials, that do not immediately evoke the act of violence itself. The quality of plastic bottles, that are the primary material, communicate physicality, while the red color that spreads throughout the entire synthesis, has multidimensional symbolisms such as blood, pain, intensity, liberation.

Brief Bio
