Abstract
Τo α-mechαno (μία αρχαιολογία του μέλλοντος) πραγματεύεται μια μάταιη, αδύνατη συνάντηση σε ένα μακρινό μέλλον: μια επαφή ανάμεσα στα θραύσματα μιας εξελιγμένης μορφής μηχανής, η οποία επιχειρεί να ανασυντεθεί, και στο μοναδικό ίχνος που θα έχει απομείνει από τον ατελή δημιουργό της — αποσπασματικές, εφήμερες εικόνες σωμάτων, αντανακλάσεις, φευγαλέες προβολές χεριών, φαντάσματα.
Η συνάντηση αυτή εκτυλίσσεται σε έναν μεθοριακό χώρο, σε ένα σχεδόν ανεπαίσθητο κατώφλι ανάμεσα σε δύο χρονικές διαστάσεις: το παρελθόν και το μέλλον.
Η νοσταλγία της μηχανής για τον άνθρωπο εκφράζεται μέσα από μία χειρονομία: το άγγιγμα — μια θεμελιώδη, βαθιά ανθρώπινη ανάγκη, που ωστόσο δεν θα εκπληρωθεί ποτέ.
α-mechαno είναι μία οπτικό-ακουστική εμπειρία η οποία αποτελείται από τρεις αλληλένδετες ενότητες:
• Ένα γλυπτό κατασκευασμένο από οπτικές ίνες.
• Έναν ¨inmersive¨/βιωματικό χώρο, οριοθετημένο από μια ημιδιάφανη υφασμάτινη επιφάνεια. Η επιφάνεια αυτή λούζεται από ροές φωτός μεταβλητής έντασης, λειτουργεί ως πεδίο προβολής και καλεί τον θεατή να κινηθεί στο εσωτερικό της.
• Βιντεοπροβολές που συμπληρώνουν το οπτικό περιβάλλον.
Abstract in english
α-mechano explores a futile, impossible encounter in a distant future: a contact between the shattered fragments of an advanced form of the machine — attempting to reassemble themselves — and the only trace left behind by its imperfect creator: ephemeral images of bodies, reflections, fleeting projections of hands, ghosts.
This encounter unfolds within a liminal space, a threshold almost imperceptible, between two dimensions of time: the future and the past.
The machine’s longing for the human is expressed through a single gesture: the touch — a fundamental, deeply human need that will never be fulfilled.
α-mechano creates an immersive audiovisual environment through three interconnected elements:
• A fiber-optic sculpture that serves as the installation's core.
• An immersive, experiential space defined by a translucent textile membrane. Bathed in shifting light intensities, this surface acts as a projection canvas, inviting the viewer to step inside and engage with the work.
• Video projections that expand and complete the visual environment.
