| dc.description.abstract | Οι σύγχρονες κοινωνικές δομές έχουν αναδιαμορφώσει την έννοια της αξίας, μετατοπίζοντάς την από την ανθρώπινη υπόσταση προς τη χρηματική αποτίμηση. Η ανθρώπινη ζωή παύει να αντιμετωπίζεται ως αυταξία και μετατρέπεται σε μέγεθος μετρήσιμο, διαπραγματεύσιμο, ανταλλάξιμο. Το έργο πραγματεύεται την ιεραρχική διάρθρωση της κοινωνίας και τη βίαιη επιβολή της ανώτερης τάξης επί της κατώτερης. Κεντρικό στοιχείο αποτελεί ένας τρίφτης σε υπερμεγέθη κλίμακα. Ένα καθημερινό, χρηστικό αντικείμενο μετατρέπεται σε μηχανισμό φθοράς. Η αρχική του λειτουργία, η τριβή, αποκτά μεταφορική διάσταση. Συμβολίζει τη σταδιακή αποδυνάμωση, τη διάβρωση της προσωπικότητας και τον κατακερματισμό της ανθρώπινης ύπαρξης μέσα σε ένα σύστημα που απαιτεί διαρκή παραγωγικότητα και υποταγή. Οι νεκροκεφαλές, τοποθετημένες χαμηλότερα, λειτουργούν ως υπόμνηση των συνεπειών. Η λευκότητά τους παραπέμπει στην αθωότητά τους για την συνθήκη αυτή. Το υλικό τους, ο γύψος, εύθραυστος και ευάλωτος, αντιπαρατίθεται με τον μεταλλικό τρίφτη, ο οποίος είναι βαρύς, ψυχρός και ανθεκτικός. Η υλική αυτή αντίθεση ενισχύει την έννοια της άνισης δύναμης. Η ελαφριά κλίση του τρίφτη προς τα κρανία δημιουργεί μια αίσθηση επικείμενης απειλής. Η επιβολή δεν είναι στιγμιαία, είναι διαρκής, αθόρυβη και συστημική. Το έργο δεν αναφέρεται σε ένα μεμονωμένο γεγονός, αλλά σε μια κατάσταση που αναπαράγεται αδιάκοπα. Μέσα από αυτή τη σύνθεση, επιχειρείται μια εικαστική αλληγορία του σύγχρονου κοινωνικοοικονομικού συστήματος, όπου η επιδίωξη του «περισσότερου» οδηγεί στην αποδόμηση της ανθρωπιάς. | |
| dc.description.abstracttranslated | Modern social structures have reshaped the concept of value, shifting it from human existence to monetary valuation. Human life ceases to be treated as an intrinsic value and is transformed into a measurable, negotiable, and exchangeable quantity. The work addresses the hierarchical structure of society and the violent imposition of the upper class upon the lower. A central element is a grater on an oversized scale. An everyday usefull, functional object is transformed into a mechanism of erosion. Its original function, friction, acquires a metaphorical dimension. It symbolizes gradual weakening, the erosion of personality, and the fragmentation of human existence within a system that demands constant productivity and submission. The skulls, placed lower, act as a reminder of the consequences. Their whiteness alludes to their innocence in this condition. Their material, plaster fragile and vulnerableis contrasted with the metallic grater, which is heavy, cold, and durable. This material contrast reinforces the notion of unequal power. The slight tilt of the grater toward the skulls creates a sense of imminent threat. The imposition is not momentary; it is continuous, silent, and systemic. The work does not refer to a single event, but to a condition that is constantly reproduced. Through this composition, an attempt is made to construct a visual allegory of the contemporary socio-economic system, in which the pursuit of “more” leads to the deconstruction of humanity. | en |
