| dc.description.abstract | Το έργο διερευνά την έννοια της τελειότητας και το προσωπικό ταξίδι κάθε ανθρώπου προς την κατάκτησή της, μέσα από δύο διαφορετικά αλλά συμπληρωματικά μονοπάτια. Δύο καράβια — δύο διαφορετικά ταξίδια. Το πρώτο, κοσμικό, γεμάτο φως, διασκέδαση, χορό και αλκοόλ, απεικονίζεται ως κρουαζιερόπλοιο γεμάτο χρώματα, ρυθμό και ζωή. Αντιπροσωπεύει την εξωτερική αναζήτηση της τελειότητας, εκείνη που συνδέεται με την κοινωνική εικόνα, την απόλαυση και τη φαινομενική πληρότητα. Το δεύτερο, πνευματικό, παρουσιάζεται ως φορτηγό καράβι — λιτό, μοναχικό, εργατικό. Συμβολίζει την εσωτερική διαδρομή, το βάθος της αυτογνωσίας, τη σιωπή και την εσωτερική εργασία που απαιτείται για την πραγματική ολοκλήρωση. Στο έργο συνυπάρχουν οκτώ κύβοι, καθένας από τους οποίους φέρει φιγούρες των καραβιών σε ύφος ποπ αρτ, με έντονα, δυναμικά χρώματα που παραπέμπουν στη σύγχρονη μαζική κουλτούρα και την ένταση των αντιθέσεων. Κρυμμένο σε κάθε κύβο βρίσκεται το νούμερο εφτά — σύμβολο τύχης, πνευματικής τελείωσης και ισορροπίας ανάμεσα στον υλικό και τον άυλο κόσμο. Το ξύλο ως βασικό υλικό προσδίδει σταθερότητα, γείωση και φυσικότητα, ενώ ο πολυεστέρας, μέσα από καλούπια που σχηματίζουν τα καράβια, αναδεικνύει την τεχνητή, κατασκευασμένη όψη της ανθρώπινης προσπάθειας προς την τελειότητα. | |
| dc.description.abstracttranslated | The work explores the concept of perfection and the personal journey each human undertakes to attain it, through two different yet complementary paths. Two ships — two distinct journeys. The first, worldly, is filled with light, entertainment, dance, and alcohol. It appears as a cruise ship full of color, rhythm, and life, representing the external pursuit of perfection — one tied to social image, pleasure, and superficial fulfillment. The second, spiritual, is depicted as a cargo ship — simple, solitary, and laborious. It symbolizes the inner voyage, the depth of self-awareness, silence, and the inner work required for true completeness. Within the work coexist eight cubes, each bearing figures of the ships in a pop art style, rendered in vibrant, dynamic colors that evoke modern mass culture and the tension of contrasts. Hidden within each cube is the number seven — a symbol of luck, spiritual perfection, and the balance between the material and the immaterial world. Wood serves as the dominant material, offering stability, grounding, and a sense of nature, while polyester, molded to form the ships, highlights the artificial, constructed aspect of humanity’s pursuit of perfection. Perfection is not a destination but a journey — sometimes noisy and social, sometimes silent and solitary. The work examines this duality through the coexistence of the superficial and the essential, the external and the internal, the luminous and the dark. | en |
