| dc.description.abstract | Το έργο Ρετάλια εξερευνά τη σχέση ανάμεσα στο βίωμα και την ανάμνησή του. Προσεγγίζει τη μνήμη ως ένα επιμερισμένο και εύθραυστο αρχείο στιγμών που αποσυντίθενται και ανασυντίθενται σε νέες αφηγήσεις. Κάθε βίωμα παρασύρεται μέσα σε αυτόν τον απεριόριστο και ασαφή εσωτερικό χώρο, εκεί όπου παρελθόν, παρόν και μέλλον συνυπάρχουν, εκεί όπου κατοικούν οι αναμνήσεις. Βρισκόμαστε στο παρόν, όμως όλα όσα ορίζουν την αίσθηση του εαυτού και της ταυτότητάς μας ανήκουν ήδη στο παρελθόν κι έτσι, εξαρτόμαστε από τη μνήμη για να διαμορφώσουμε την προσωπική μας ιστορία. Στην εγκατάσταση, οικογενειακές φωτογραφίες προσωπικού αρχείου, κομμένες και υφασμένες μεταξύ τους σε ένα ατελές πλέγμα, σχηματίζουν μια οριζόντια γραμμή. Συνθέτουν εικόνες θραυσματικές που αδυνατούν να οργανωθούν σε μία χρονολογική ακολουθία. Μικρά ευρήματα φυλάσσονται αυτούσια, μετασχηματίζονται ελαφρά ή μετατρέπονται σε φυλαχτά, σφραγίδες και τυπώματα. Σημειώσεις, αντικείμενα, εικόνες, γίνονται αφορμή για συνειρμούς και πυροδοτούν αναμνήσεις. Ρετάλια από μια ζωή που βιώθηκε, φορτισμένα με ιστορίες ή απλά ίχνη στιγμών, που έχουν περάσει στη λήθη και προσπαθούν να αναβιώσουν μέσα από επανασυνδέσεις και νέα αφηγήματα. | |
| dc.description.abstracttranslated | The project Scraps explores the relationship between the lived experience and the memory of it. It approaches memory as a fragmented and fragile archive of memories that disintegrate and reassemble into new narratives. Every experience is lured into a vast and vague inner space, where the past, present and future coexist - where the memories reside. We exist in the present, yet everything that shapes our sense of self and identity already belongs in the past. As a result, we depend on memory to construct our personal history. In the installation, family photographs from a personal archive are cut and woven together into an incomplete grid to form a horizontal line. They compose fragmented images that cannot be arranged in chronological order. Small found objects are preserved into their original form, subtly transformed or turned into talismans, stamps and imprints. Notes, objects and images evoke associations and trigger memories. A collection of scraps from a life once lived, that are either imbued with stories or exist as simple traces of moments that have faded into oblivion and are reactivated through new connections and narratives. | en |
