| dc.description.abstract | Το έργο Lucien 1884 ενσαρκώνει μια αφήγηση. Ακολουθώντας το καλλιτεχνικό είδος της παραμυθολογίας, μέσα από αντικείμενα-εκθέματα, υπομνήματα και σημειώσεις, περιγράφει μία ιστορία που τοποθετείται στον 19ο αιώνα. Τότε που η θολή ακόμα θεώρηση της εκκολαπτόμενης επιστημονικής μεθόδου άφηνε πολλά σκοτεινά σημεία. Σημεία όπου το λογικό συναντούσε το φανταστικό και επιστημονικές παρατηρήσεις συνόρευαν με τα παραμύθια. Τα αντικείμενα που παρουσιάζονται είναι κατασκευασμένα και έπειτα φθαρμένα ή τροποποιημένα για να διηγηθούν αυτό το “παραμύθι”. Ο σκοπός τους είναι λιγότερο ο ρεαλισμός και περισσότερο η δραματική αφήγηση μίας ιστορίας- μίας παράστασης χωρίς ηθοποιούς. Μία σκισμένη στολή , ένα μοναχικό γάντι και φθαρμένες φωτογραφίες- αυτά, ανάμεσα σε άλλα αντικείμενα πλαισιώνουν μία ιστορία χαμένη στον χρόνο. Μέσα απο αυτά τα “εκθέματα”, ο θεατής μαθαίνει για τους πρωταγωνιστές της ιστορίας και για την ερευνητική αποστολή που αποτέλεσε το τέλος τους. Μέσα από σημειώσεις, υπομνήματα και ευρήματα παρουσιάζεται ως γεγονός ένα χαμένο κομμάτι ιστορίας. Όμως προσοχή: η κάμερα είναι χαλασμένη, οι φωτογραφίες δεν δείχνουν παρά σκιές και μοναδικός οδηγός του επιστήμονα είναι μία γοτθική νουβέλα. | |
| dc.description.abstracttranslated | Lucien 1884 embodies a narrative. Following the artistic genre of parafiction, through objects-exhibits, memoranda and notes, it describes a story set in the 19th century. At a time when the still hazy vision of the nascent scientific method left many dark spots. Places where logic met fantasy and scientific observations bordered on fairy tales. The objects presented are constructed and then worn down or modified to tell this “fairy tale.” Their purpose is less so realism but mainly the dramatic telling of a story— a performance without actors. A torn uniform, a lone glove and damaged photographs - these, among other objects, frame a story lost in time. Through these "exhibits", the viewer learns about the protagonists of the story and the research mission that marked their end. Through notes, memos and findings, a lost piece of history is presented as fact. But beware: the camera is broken, the photos show nothing but shadows and the scientist's only guide is a Gothic novel. | en |
