dc.description.abstractΑντικείμενο της έρευνας αποτελεί η γυναικεία μόδα σε σχέση με την Ελληνική Επανάσταση του 1821 στο Αιγαίο. Εξετάζονται τόσο η προεπαναστατική περίοδος αλλά και τα πρώτα χρόνια ίδρυσης του ελληνικού κράτους, ώστε συγκρίνοντας τις περιόδους να αποσαφηνιστεί αν η Επανάσταση επέφερε αλλαγές ή τομές στη μόδα της περιόδου στη Σύρο και κυρίως στην Ερμούπολη (1789-1850). Αρχικά αναπτύσσονται οι λίγοι για τους οποίους προκρίνεται η έννοια της μόδας έναντι άλλων εννοιών, όπως η ένδυση / ενδυμασία, η παραδοσιακή φορεσιά ή το κοστούμι. Στη συνέχεια αναλύονται τα στοιχεία της μόδας και επιχειρείται η ανάλυση τους με παραδείγματα της Σύρου. Επιπλέον, τα πρότυπα ομορφιάς διερευνώνται στην ευρύτερη περιοχή των νησιών του Αιγαίου. Δεδομένου ότι δεν υπάρχουν μουσειακά τεκμήρια της περιόδου από τη Σύρο, αναλύονται τα ενδυματολογικά στοιχεία όπως εντοπίζονται στα νοταριακά έγγραφά, την πιο αξιόπιστη διαθέσιμη πηγή πληροφοριών για την περίοδο του 18ου και 19ου αιώνα. Οι γραπτές πηγές συγκρίνονται με άλλες πηγές, όπως περιηγητικά κείμενα, χαρακτικά ή άλλα μουσειακά ενδύματα από νησιά του Αιγαίου και επιχειρείται να δοθεί η ερμηνεία των λέξεων όπου κρίνεται σκόπιμο. Μέσω της ανάλυσης των πληροφοριών για τα ενδύματα, τα κοσμήματα, τα υποδήματα και όποιο άλλο ενδυματολογικό στοιχείο είναι διαθέσιμο, επιχειρείται να ανασυσταθεί η μόδα την Σύρου στην παραπάνω χρονική περίοδο.
dc.description.abstracttranslatedThe research studies women‟s fashion in relation to the Greek Revolution of 1821 in the Aegean. It examines both the pre-revolutionary period and the first years of the newly-founded Greek state, in order to clarify, by comparing the periods, whether the revolution brought about changes in fashion in Syros and more particularly in Ermoupolis (1789-1850). The concept of fashion is preferred over other concepts, such as “clothing/dressing,” “traditional costume” or “costume.” The components of fashion (adornment, the concept of being modern/contemporary with the times, changes and new trends, imitation, discrimination and beauty standards) are analysed through examples from Syros. In addition, beauty standards are explored in the wider region of the Aegean islands. The research was based on marriage contracts, testaments or other legal documents. The written sources are compared with other sources, such as travellers‟ texts, engravings or other museum objects from the islands of the Aegean and an attempt is made to give the interpretation of specific words when necessary. Whenever possible, words are matched to images and in some cases a design rendering of the words is carried out. Therefore, through the analysis of clothing, jewellery, shoes and any other clothing item, an attempt is made to reconstruct the fashion of Syros during the given period.en
