Abstract
Η παρούσα εικαστική διπλωματική εργασία καταπιάνεται με την κατασκευασμένη ταυτότητα της γυναίκας – σεξουαλικού αντικειμένου μέσα από την εικόνα, την τέχνη και τη δημόσια σφαίρα. Επίσης, γύρω από το θέμα των έμφυλων ταυτοτήτων, το σεξ, το ανδρικό βλέμμα, και την πορνογραφία. Με αφορμή αυτήν την κατασκευασμένη ταυτότητα δημιουργώ αυτοπορτραίτα μέσα από τη φωτογραφία και παρουσιάζω με σαρκαστικό τρόπο μια σεξουαλικοποιημένη εικόνα του εαυτού μου αγγίζοντας τα όρια της πορνογραφίας. Συνδυάζω την τέχνη της φωτογραφίας με την τέχνη της γλυπτικής και την τέχνη της ηχογραφημένης επιτέλεσης την ποίησης μου. Προσεγγίζω με σαρκαστικό και χλευαστικό τρόπο το στερεότυπο της γυναικάς – σεξουαλικού αντικειμένου χρησιμοποιώντας σύμβολα και στοιχεία από την πατριαρχία, θέλοντας να αμφισβητήσω το στερεότυπο αυτό, μέσα από τη γλυπτική μου και μέσα από το σεξουαλικοποιημένο γυμνό μου σώμα το οποίο γίνεται το αντικείμενο μέσα στην εικόνα.
Abstract in english
The present art thesis explores the fabricated identity of the woman as a sexual object through image, art, and the public sphere. Additionally, it delves into the topics of gender identities, sex, the male gaze, and pornography. Using this constructed identity as a starting point, I create self-portraits through photography and present in a sarcastic way a sexualized image of myself while pushing the boundaries of pornography. I combine the means of photography with sculpture and the art of recorded performance of my poetry. I approach in a sarcastic and mocking way the stereotype of the woman as a sexual object using symbols and elements from the patriarchy, aiming to challenge this stereotype, through my sculpture and through my sexualized naked body which becomes the object within the image. Through my artistic work, I aim to demonstrate that stereotypes related to the female gender and representations of the female body significantly influence the way that the majority of the people perceives the female identity. My artistic statement revolves around female identity, the representation and exploitation of the commercialized and sexualized female bodies. Therefore, I address the sexual objectification of women.
