| dc.description.abstract | Η παρούσα πτυχιακή εργασία εξετάζει το έργο του γλύπτη Θόδωρου, με αντικείμενο τη συγκρότηση της αρρενωπότητας και τη σύνδεση της με ζητήματα εξουσίας, σωματικής δράσης και συμμέτοχης του θεατή. Η έρευνα επικεντρώνεται σε επιλεγμένα έργα της περιόδου από τα μέσα της δεκαετίας του 1960 έως τις αρχές της δεκαετίας του 1980, κατά την οποία ο καλλιτέχνης ανέπτυξε πρακτικές συμμετοχικής γλυπτικής, επιτελεστικότητας και περφόρμανς. Κεντρικός άξονας της ανάλυσης είναι το μοτίβο της «Ματράκ-Φαλλού», το οποίο εξετάζεται ως συμβολικό αντικείμενο που συμπυκνώνει τη σχέση ανάμεσα στη φαλλική αναπαράσταση, τη βία, τη δημιουργία και τη χειραγώγηση. Μέσα από τη μελέτη έργων όπως το «Ξυπνητήρι του Μεσονυχτιού», η έκθεση «Γλυπτική για τη Συμμετοχή του Κοινού - Απαγορεύεται η Συμμετοχή», καθώς και μεταγενέστερες εγκαταστάσεις και περφόρμανς, αναδεικνύεται η μετατόπιση της γλυπτικής από το αντικείμενο στη δράση και η ενεργοποίηση του θεατή ως συμμέτοχου της εικαστικής πράξης. Η μεθοδολογία βασίζεται στη θεωρητική και ερμηνευτική ανάλυση έργων σε συνδυασμό με τη ιστορική και κοινωνικοπολιτική τους τοποθέτηση, καθώς και στη διασταύρωση της εικαστικής πρακτικής με θεωρητικές προσεγγίσεις γύρω από το σώμα, την επιτελεστικότητα και τον λόγο. Η ανάλυση δείχνει ότι στο έργο του Θόδωρου η αρρενωπότητα συγκροτείται ως διαρκής διαπραγμάτευση μέσω της σωματικής δράσης, της συμμετοχής και της αποδόμησης των συμβολικών μορφών εξουσίας. | |
| dc.description.abstracttranslated | This thesis examines the work of sculptor Theodoros, focusing on the construction of masculinity and its articulation in relation to power, action, and audience participation. The analysis concentrates on selected works produced between the mid-1960s and the early 1980s, a period during which the artist developed participatory sculptural practices, performative strategies, and performance-based actions. The study centers around the recurring motif of the Matrak-Phallus, which is analyzed as a symbolic object condensing association of phallic representation, violence, creation, and control. Through the examination of works such as Reveille-Minuit (1965), the exhibition Sculpture for Public Participation – Participation Prohibited (1970), as well as later installations and performances, the thesis traces a shift in sculptural practice from the production of autonomous object to action-based processes that activate the viewer as a participating subject. The methodology combines theoretical and interpretative analysis of artworks with their historical and socio-political contextualisation, drawing on approaches to the body, performativity, and language. The analysis demonstrates that in Theodoros’s work masculinity is not articulated as a stable essential identity, but as a performative and cultural constructed condition, continuously negotiated through bodily action, participation, and the destabilization of symbolic forms of power. | en |
