| dc.description.abstract | Τις τελευταίες δεκαετίες, παρά τις φαινομενικά αξεπέραστες προκλήσεις στον ορισμό της τέχνης και της αισθητικής, έχουν καταβληθεί σημαντικές προσπάθειες για να διερευνηθούν οι βιολογικές βάσεις της αισθητικής εμπειρίας. Η προσπάθεια κατανόησης των νευρωνικών μηχανισμών που διέπουν την εκτίμηση της ομορφιάς ξεκίνησε με τη μελέτη του οπτικού συστήματος των πρωτευόντων μέσω νευροφυσιολογικών μεθόδων. Αν και συχνά δεν το συνειδητοποιούμε, η ερμηνεία μιας οπτικής σκηνής αποτελεί μια εξαιρετικά σύνθετη διαδικασία. Η παρούσα εγκατάσταση προσεγγίζει τον τρόπο με τον οποίο τα ψηφιακά περιβάλλοντα μπορούν να ενεργοποιήσουν συναισθηματικές και σωματοποιημένες αντιδράσεις που παραδοσιακά συνδέονται με την εμπειρία της φύσης. Η εννοιολογική βάση του έργου αντλείται από τις θεωρίες της βιοφιλίας, οι οποίες υποστηρίζουν μια έμφυτη ανθρώπινη έλξη προς τις φυσικές μορφές και περιβάλλοντα, καθώς η σύνδεση με τη φύση προάγει την ψυχική ηρεμία, τη γνωστική λειτουργία και την αισθητική ευαισθησία. Η εγκατάσταση δημιουργήθηκε χρησιμοποιώντας φωτογραμμετρία και δεδομένα που συλλέχθηκαν από πραγματικά φυσικά περιβάλλοντα, τα οποία στη συνέχεια μετατράπηκαν σε οπτικό κώδικα. Παραγωγικοί αλγόριθμοι δημιουργήθηκαν για να προγραμματίζουν την κίνηση, το χρώμα και το βάθος, ενώ συμπληρωματικές λειτουργίες παράγουν διαφανή σωματίδια που αιωρούνται και αλληλεπικαλύπτονται. Κάθε εικόνα υπολογίζεται σε πραγματικό χρόνο, δημιουργώντας ένα πλήρως άϋλο περιβάλλον που αναγεννάται διαρκώς. | |
| dc.description.abstracttranslated | In recent decades, despite seemingly formidable challenges in defining art and aesthetics, significant efforts have been made to investigate the biological foundations of aesthetic experiences. The attempt to understand the neural mechanisms underlying the appreciation of beauty began with neurophysiological studies of the primate visual system. Although we are often unaware of it, interpreting a visual scene is an exceptionally complex process. The present artwork examines the ways in which immersive digital environments can activate emotional and embodied responses traditionally associated with experiences of nature. The conceptual basis of the work draws on the theories of biophilia, which propose an innate human attraction to natural forms and environments, as the connection with nature promotes psychological calm, cognitive function, and aesthetic sensitivity. The installation was constructed using photogrammetry and spatial data collected from real botanical environments, which then were converted into visual code. Procedural algorithms built to control motion, color and depth, while additional functions generate transparent particles that float and intersect. Every frame is computed in real-time producing a fully generative and intangible environment. | en |

| dc.description.cv | Η Αναστασία Τσούτσουκα είναι διεπιστημονική καλλιτέχνης και ερευνήτρια, γεννημένη στην Ελλάδα. Σπούδασε στην Ανώτατη Σχολή Καλών Τεχνών Αθηνών και ολοκλήρωσε το μεταπτυχιακό της στη Σχολή Καλών Τεχνών του Πανεπιστημίου Λισαβόνας, με έμφαση στις εφαρμοσμένες ψηφιακές τέχνες. Έχοντας εξερευνήσει ένα πλήθος εικαστικών μέσων, τα τελευταία χρόνια η δουλειά της συνδυάζει την τέχνη και την τεχνολογία, για τον τρισδιάστατο σχεδιασμό, την κινούμενη εικόνα και αλγοριθμική τέχνη. Συνεχίζει να διασταυρώνει πεδία στην ψηφιακή ποιητική, την αισθητική και την αφήγηση, διερευνώντας την καλλιτεχνική έκφραση μέσω των επιστημών και της αλληλεπίδρασης μεταξύ παραδοσιακής και ψηφιακής τέχνης. --- Anastasia Tsoutsouka is a multidisciplinary artist and researcher, born in Greece. She studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts and the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lisbon, with a focus on applied digital arts. Having explored a multitude of visual media, including painting and sculpture, in recent years she has shown a profound interest in art and technology, creating immersive experiences using generative art. She continues to cross fields in digital poetics, aesthetics, and storytelling, exploring artistic expression through mathematics and the interplay between traditional and digital art. | |
