Abstract
Εικόνες παρμένες από μνήμες, φαντασία και περιβάλλον αποτυπώνονται στον καμβά και συνθέτουν το Lucid Worlds. Ζωγραφική που ρέει ανάμεσα σε μυθοπλασία και πραγματικότητα. Χρησιμοποιώντας συμβολικά και αφηγηματικά στοιχεία στο έργο της, η Κατρή δημιουργεί τη δική της αφήγηση μέσα από τη μυθολογία, τις αναμνήσεις της παιδικής της ηλικίας στη Σαντορίνη, τα ταξίδια της, αλλά και την πρόσφατη εμπειρία της από το Iσλανδικό τοπίο, που τη συγκίνησε βαθιά και επηρέασε καθοριστικά τη τέχνη της. Αυτά τα στοιχεία συγχωνεύονται σε όλη τη δουλειά της και αφηγούνται την προσωπική και ποιητική σύνθεση της καλλιτέχνιδας των Lucid Worlds. To παιχνίδι των σχέσεων μεταξύ φιγούρας και τοπίου διατρέχει σε ολόκληρο το έργο. Αυτή η συγχώνευση ξυπνά τη μνήμη συγκεκριμένων εμπειριών και δημιουργεί ένα φανταστικό τοπίο, στο οποίο η ίδια η καλλιτέχνης ζει σε πραγματικό χρόνο. Σε συνδυασμό με τον προσωπικό συμβολισμό της Κατρή, η αλχημεία που προκύπτει αγγίζει έναν σουρεαλισμό και ένα συμβολικό στυλ. Το Lucid Worlds προσκαλεί τον θεατή σε ένα ταξίδι και τον προκαλεί να βρει μέσα στο έργο τη δική του αφήγηση.
Abstract in english
Painting from her own archive of memory, imagination and from her direct surroundings, Lucid Worlds flows between fiction and reality. Using symbolic and narrative elements in her work Katri creates her own storytelling through mythology, memories of her childhood in Santorini and her recent experience of the Icelandic landscape. Living in Iceland for the last two years, Veronika was deeply moved by the landscape and echoes it in her work. These elements merge throughout her work, narrating the artist´s own personal and poetic synthesis of Lucid Worlds. Playing with the relationship between the figure, landscape and abstraction are binding themes within the work. This amalgamation conjures the memory of specific experiences and creates an imaginary landscape, in which she lives in real time. Combined with Katri´s personal symbolism, this alchemy touches on a surrealism and symbolic style. When creating work, Veronika moves between conscious and unconscious states, letting the work find her and unravel before her in an unpredicted narrative. Katri guides the narrative intuitively with an abstract burst of colours on the canvas, then starts forming a visual narrative as she draws on her personal experience. Lucid Worlds invites the viewer to a journey to find their own narrative of the work.
