| dc.description.abstract | Το «WINDOW» είναι ένα ζωγραφικό έργο, μέσα σε ένα άδειο και αποστειρωμένο εργαστήριο. Ένας καμβάς, διαστάσεων 300x300cm, ζωγραφισμένος με μαύρο ακρυλικό χρώμα, είναι το μοναδικό αντικείμενο μέσα στον χώρο - το QR code που σχηματίζεται στο έργο, παραπέμπει στον προσωπικό μου λογαριασμό στο Instagram, υπό το ψευδώνυμο «SOTEUR». Καθώς το Instagram είναι η βασική πλατφόρμα που χρησιμοποιώ τα τελευταία χρόνια για να επικοινωνώ τη δουλειά μου και να βιοπορίζομαι, τα έργα που βρίσκονται στον προσωπικό μου λογαριασμό ως «SOTEUR», δημιουργήθηκαν για να υπάρχουν αυτόνομα μέσα στην πλατφόρμα και όχι ως αναφορές έργων που βρίσκονται στον φυσικό κόσμο. Γι' αυτό και δεν μπορούν να «φύγουν» ποτέ από τον λογαριασμό μου στο internet - εκεί είναι ο φυσικός χώρος έκθεσής τους. Το «WINDOW» προκύπτει μετά από έρευνα και ανάλυση του διαδικτύου και των social media ως έναν νέο «δημόσιο χώρο» και χώρο έκθεσης, όπως και τη σημασία του να απομακρύνεται ο καλλιτέχνης από θεσμούς όπως γκαλερί και μουσεία, ως πράξη αυτονομίας, σε συνδυασμό με τη θέση του στο διαδίκτυο και την κοινωνία του σήμερα. Βασικό ρόλο στην τελική διαμόρφωση και παρουσίαση αυτού του έργου έπαιξε η ψηφιοποίηση του χώρου της τέχνης λόγο των συνθηκών που δημιουργήθηκαν από τον Covid-19. Το έργο συμβολίζει το «παράθυρο» στον χώρο της τέχνης, που μπορεί να προσφέρει πρόσβαση σε οποιονδήποτε, από οπουδήποτε, ως το έναυσμα για μία διαφορετική εμπειρία θέασης που επανεξετάζει την έννοια της pop art όπως ορίστηκε πριν από περίπου οκτώ Δεκαετίες. | |
| dc.description.abstracttranslated | "WINDOW" is a painting within an empty and sterile artist’s studio. A canvas, measuring 300x300cm, painted with black acrylic paint, is the only object in the space. The QR code formed on the artwork links to my personal Instagram account under the pseudonym "SOTEUR". Since Instagram has been the main platform I have used in recent years to communicate my work and make a living, the works on my personal account as "SOTEUR" were created to exist autonomously within the platform and not as references to works that exist in the physical world. Therefore, they can never "leave" my internet account - that is their natural exhibition space. "WINDOW" results from research and analysis of the internet and social media as a new "public space" and exhibition space, as well as the significance of the artist distancing themselves from institutions like galleries and museums as an act of autonomy, combined with their position on the internet and in today's society. The digitization of the art space, due to conditions created by Covid-19, played a crucial role in the final shaping and presentation of this work. The artwork symbolizes the "window" into the art space, offering access to anyone, from anywhere, as the impetus for a different viewing experience that re-examines the concept of pop art as defined about eight decades ago. | en |
