| dc.description.abstract | Στην παρούσα εργασία εξετάζονται τα έργα περφόρμανς της Μαρίας Καραβέλα και της Λήδας Παπακωνσταντίνου όπως αυτά παρουσιάστηκαν στο διάστημα 1970-1985. Βασικό ερευνητικό υλικό αποτέλεσαν τα αρχεία των δύο καλλιτέχνιδων, όπως αυτά διατίθενται διαδικτυακά αλλά και σε αντίστοιχες μονογραφίες, καθώς και κείμενα (κριτικές και παρουσιάσεις) που δημοσιεύτηκαν στον περιοδικό και ημερήσιο Τύπο της εποχής. Μεγάλο μέρος της εργασίας βασίζεται στις ερμηνευτικές προσεγγίσεις που έχουν προταθεί από μελετητές της περφόρμανς και της σύγχρονης νεοελληνικής τέχνης. Για την ερμηνευτική προσέγγιση των έργων που επιχειρείται στο κείμενο, ακόμα, χρησιμοποιούνται μεθοδολογικά εργαλεία από τη θεωρία του φεμινισμού, καθώς και έννοιες όπως το πολιτικό, η συνεργατική τέχνη, η τέχνη στην κοινότητα, καθώς και το δίπολο ιδιωτικό-δημόσιο. Συνολικά επιχειρείται μια προσπάθεια ανάσυρσης των στοιχείων εκείνων που σε συνομιλία με βασικές έννοιες από τη θεωρία της τέχνης, θα αναδείξουν τα σημεία εκείνα των έργων των δύο καλλιτέχνιδων όπου οι συζητήσεις για την τέχνη της περφόρμανς, το πολιτικό και το φύλο διασταυρώνονται και δημιουργούν μια νέα προσέγγιση στο έργο τους. Η εργασία διαρθρώνεται σε τρία κυρίως κεφάλαια, στα οποία παρουσιάζονται και αναλύονται τα έργα των δύο καλλιτέχνιδων. Το πρώτο κεφάλαιο εστιάζει στα έργα που θέτουν στο επίκεντρο το πολιτικό στοιχείο. Στο δεύτερο αναλύονται τα έργα για τα οποία συνεργάστηκαν με καλλιτέχνες και επιστήμονες, ενώ στο τρίτο εξετάζονται τα έργα που παρουσίασαν σε περιοχές εκτός Αθηνών, στο πλαίσιο της αποκέντρωσης που έθεσαν οι ίδιες. Στοιχείο που διέπει το κείμενο είναι ότι το ίδιο το φύλο τους γίνεται αντιληπτό ως καθοριστικό στην υιοθέτηση από την πλευρά των δύο καλλιτέχνιδων καλλιτεχνικών πρακτικών εκτός των καθιερωμένων, κοινώς αποδεκτών και αναμενόμενων, πρακτικές που εξυπηρετούν άμεσα και το περιεχόμενο των έργων τους και τον σκοπό τους. | |
| dc.description.abstracttranslated | The master’s thesis at hand examines the performance art pieces of Maria Karavela and Leda Papakonstantinou as they were presented from 1970 to 1985. The primary research materials include the artists' archives available online and in monographs, as well as reviews and art presentations published in periodicals and the daily press of the time. The thesis takes into great account the interpretive approaches proposed by researchers of performance art and contemporary Greek art. Methodological tools from feminist theory, along with concepts such as the political, collaborative art, community art, and the private-public dichotomy, are also employed for the interpretive analysis of their works. The goal is to identify and highlight elements that, when considered alongside fundamental concepts from art theory, reveal how discussions on performance art, politics, and gender intersect in the works of Karavela and Papakonstantinou, offering a new perspective on their art. The thesis is structured into three main chapters, each presenting and analyzing the artists' works from various angles. The first chapter focuses on pieces emphasizing political themes; the second chapter examines projects where the artists collaborated with other artists and scientists; the third chapter explores works created and presented in regions in Greece outside of Athens, reflecting their commitment to decentralization. As being stated throughout, the artists' gender is seen as crucial in their adoption of unconventional artistic practices. These practices, while deviating from established, commonly accepted norms, largely serve both the content and purpose of their works. | en |
