Abstract
Το έργο μου εξερευνά τη σχέση μεταξύ υλικότητας, μνήμης και υποσυνείδητης αντίληψης μέσα από τη χρήση της συνθετικής γούνας. Δημιουργώντας συμμετρικές συνθέσεις, διερευνώ πώς τα μοτίβα αναδύονται ως αντανάκλαση του υποσυνείδητου, προκαλώντας προσωπικές και συλλογικές αναγνώσεις. Εμπνευσμένα από το τεστ Rorschach, τα έργα μου καλούν τον θεατή να ερμηνεύσει τις μορφές, αποκαλύπτοντας τη βαθιά σύνδεση μεταξύ υλικού, σχήματος και
αντίληψης. Μέσα από αυτή τη διαδικασία, επιδιώκω να μεταμορφώσω τη γούνα σε ένα μέσο που υπερβαίνει τις παραδοσιακές της σημασίες, ανοίγοντας νέους διαλόγους γύρω από την υφή, τη συμμετρία και την ψυχολογική επίδραση των υλικών. Το τεστ Rorschach αποτελεί ένα ψυχολογικό εργαλείο που βασίζεται στην ανάλυση συμμετρικών κηλίδων μελανιού, με στόχο την ανάδειξη υποσυνείδητων σκέψεων και συναισθημάτων. Η συμμετρία στο τεστ λειτουργεί ως ένα ουδέτερο αλλά ταυτόχρονα ισχυρό μέσο που επιτρέπει την ελεύθερη ερμηνεία των μορφών, ενεργοποιώντας τόσο την ατομική όσο και τη συλλογική μνήμη. Αυτή η αμφίσημη ποιότητα της συμμετρίας αποτέλεσε κεντρική
έμπνευση για το έργο μου, καθώς αναζητώ τρόπους να διεγείρω παρόμοιες υποσυνείδητες ανταποκρίσεις μέσω των συνθέσεών μου.
Abstract in english
My work explores the relationship between materiality, memory, and subconscious perception through the use of synthetic fur. By creating symmetrical compositions, I investigate how patterns emerge as reflections of the subconscious, evoking both personal and collective interpretations. Inspired by the Rorschach test, my works invite viewers to interpret the forms, revealing the deep connection between material, shape, and perception. Through this process, I seek to transform fur into a medium that transcends its traditional meanings, opening new dialogues around texture, symmetry, and the psychological impact of materials. The Rorschach test is a psychological tool based on the analysis of symmetrical inkblots, aiming to reveal subconscious thoughts and emotions. Symmetry in the test acts as a neutral yet powerful means that allows for free interpretation of forms, activating both individual and collective memory. This ambiguous quality of symmetry was a central inspiration for my work, as I seek to stimulate similar subconscious responses through my compositions. Symmetry in my creations is not merely an aesthetic choice but a mechanism that facilitates perception and memory processes. The human mind tends to organize information based on familiar structures, and symmetry enhances this natural
tendency. My works, through this principle, aim to serve as mirrors of the psyche, allowing viewers to project their own experiences and emotions onto the forms they observe. The choice of synthetic fur as the primary
material holds deeper significance. Its texture creates a unique visual experience that oscillates between the familiar and the uncanny, provoking both a tactile desire and psychological tension. Fur is associated
with the memory of touch, but when used in an abstract and symmetrical context, it loses its original identity and transforms into something new. By merging texture with visual perception, I explore how material can
serve as a medium of psychological and sensory stimulation. Ultimately, my work seeks to immerse the viewer in a state of introspection, where material, form, and personal memory intertwine, creating new
possibilities for perception and interpretation.

H Χριστίνα Μαυρή είναι εικαστικός και απόφοιτη της Ανώτατης Σχολής Καλών Τεχνών με εξειδίκευση στην ζωγραφική δημιουργία. Από μικρή ηλικία είχε πάθος για τη ζωγραφική, το οποίο ανέπτυξε κατά τη διάρκεια των σπουδών της, εστιάζοντας στην τέχνη των υφασμάτων από γούνες. Κατά τη διάρκεια των σπουδών της, έχει ασχοληθεί με τη ζωγραφική, την εγκατάσταση , τη φωτογραφία και με το σχεδιασμό 3D αναπτύσσοντας τις δεξιότητες της για να διευρύνει
τις καλλιτεχνικές της ικανότητες και να εξερευνήσει νέες δημιουργικές προσεγγίσεις. Η έμπνευσή για το έργο της προέρχεται από την ψυχολογία, την αντίληψη, τη μνήμη και τη σχέση μεταξύ υλικού και υποσυνείδητου, συνδυάζοντας αισθητηριακές εμπειρίες με συμβολικά μοτίβα.
