| dc.description.abstract | Ονομάζομαι Ισαβέλλα Πρίτσα και είμαι απόφοιτος του τμήματος Φιλοσοφίας-Παιδαγωγικής και Ψυχολογίας, με ειδίκευση Ψυχολογίας, του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών καθώς και τελειόφοιτη του Εικαστικού Τμήματος της Ανωτάτης Σχολής Καλών Τεχνών. Η ψυχοπαθολογία ιδωμένη ως φωτογραφικό αντικείμενο αποτελεί ένα εξαιρετικά ενδιαφέρον θέμα, που συνδυάζει τις θεωρητικές και εικαστικές μου γνώσεις. Οι ψυχικά ασθενείς, απεικονίζονται συχνά ως θύτες ή αποδιοπομπαίοι τράγοι. Τα εγχειρίδια ψυχικής υγείας κάνουν χρήση εικόνων αποθεμάτων (stock images) ή αποφεύγουν εντελώς την απεικόνισή τους. Παράλληλα, η λογοτεχνία και ο κινηματογράφος έχουν δημιουργήσει στερεοτυπικές εικόνες που τους τοποθετούν στο περιθώριο και διαστρεβλώνουν την κοινή γνώμη. Ως εκ τούτου, εστιάζω το φωτογραφικό μου φακό στην επίδραση που μπορεί να έχει η τέχνη στην αλλαγή αυτής της αντίληψης. Επιδιώκω να παρουσιάσω ψυχικές διαταραχές ή συμπτώματά τους με μια ρεαλιστική ματιά, που αποκαθιστά την κανονικότητα και την πολυπλοκότητα της κατάστασής τους . Μέσα από μια σειρά από σκηνοθετημένες φωτογραφίες στόχος είναι να δημιουργηθεί μια αίσθηση ασφαλείας, που θα ενθαρρύνει τους ασθενείς και τις οικογένειές τους να απευθυνθούν σε έναν ειδικό ψυχικής υγείας. Καθώς έτσι θα αναγνωρίσουν ίσως μέσα στις φωτογραφίες και το δικό τους βλέμμα, τη δική τους συνθήκη. Ευελπιστώ πως οι φωτογραφίες μου θα συντελέσουν στην μείωση του κοινωνικού στίγματος για τους ψυχικά νοσούντες και θα προσφέρουν στήριξη και κατανόηση αντί για κατακραυγή, σε συνδυασμό με τη δημιουργία ανοιχτού διαλόγου για την ψυχική υγεία. | |
| dc.description.abstracttranslated | My name is Isabella Pritsa, and I am a graduate of the Department of Philosophy-Education and Psychology, specializing in Psychology, from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. I am also a graduate of the Fine Arts Department of the School of Fine Arts. Psychopathology, viewed as a photographic subject, is an exceptionally interesting topic that combines my theoretical and artistic knowledge. Mentally ill individuals are often portrayed as victims or scapegoats. Mental health manuals use stock images or completely avoid depicting them. Literature and cinema have created stereotypical images that marginalize and distort public opinion. Therefore, I focus my lens on the impact art can have on changing this perception. I aim to present mental disorders or their symptoms with a realistic perspective, restoring normalcy and complexity to their condition. Through a series of staged photographs, my goal is to create a sense of security that encourages patients and their families to seek a mental health specialist. By doing so, they may recognize their own gaze and their own condition in the photographs. I hope that my photos will contribute to reducing the social stigma surrounding mental illness and provide support and understanding instead of condemnation. This, in combination with fostering an open dialogue about mental health, aims to promote empathy and awareness. | en |

| dc.description.cv | Isabella Pritsa is a graduate of the Department of Philosophy-Education and Psychology, specializing in Psychology, from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She is also a graduate of the Fine Arts Department of the School of Fine Arts. She holds a postgraduate degree in Creative Writing and Literature from the University of Western Macedonia in collaboration with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Isabella has a degree in piano and advanced theory, harmony, and counterpoint from the Orpheus Conservatory of Athens. Currently, she is pursuing a master’s in social Neuroscience, Social Pedagogy, and Education at the University of Athens. She is the author a total of twelve books and has contributed to several anthologies. Her works include "The Anatomy of an Artist" and "Night Watchman" by Elikistes Publications, "Carpe Noctem" and "Don't Be Afraid Tonight" by Glarolikoi Publications, "The Golden Onion is Better," "The Little Bear," "Two Small Coins," "Sarabande," "The Sand Cockroach," "Ebony Dice," "Nocturne," and "Unofficial Survival Guide for the Living Dead" by Universal Paths Editions. Her stories can be found in the Glarolikoi magazine and Greg Audiobooks channel. Isabella has illustrated three books for Livani and Glarolikoi Publications. She has received awards in illustration competitions, winning fifth place in the Magic Drawing Contest in 2020 and ninth place in 2023. Additionally, she has participated in photography competitions, earning distinctions in the Ianos competition in 2020, 2021, and 2022. Her work was featured in the "Lockdown" exhibition at the Athens Photo Festival at the Benaki Museum in 2022. Her artworks are displayed in Iaso Hospital and private collections. | |
