Abstract
Η πτυχιακή μου εργασία αποτελεί μια εικαστική περιπλάνηση στον μετα-ανθρώπινο κόσμο, μέσα από την έννοια της «ψηφιακής ερήμου». Πρόκειται για έναν συμβολικό τόπο, όπου η τεχνολογία έχει εγκαταλειφθεί και τα ίχνη της έχουν μετατραπεί σε σιωπηλά απομεινάρια. Μέσα από κυκλικές δομές, γλυπτικά στοιχεία και την επιλογή υλικών που φέρουν μνήμη όπως τεχνολογικά κατάλοιπα, δέρμα, μέταλλο και πλακέτες επιχειρώ να δημιουργήσω έναν χώρο που δεν απεικονίζει απλώς το μέλλον, αλλά λειτουργεί ως καθρέφτης του παρόντος. Η «ψηφιακή έρημος» δεν είναι μια φανταστική δυστοπία, αλλά μια μεταφορά για την εσωτερική ξηρασία που προκαλεί η υπερβολική εξάρτηση από την τεχνολογία. Τα έργα μου αποτυπώνουν την απουσία του ανθρώπου, όχι ως φυσική εξαφάνιση, αλλά ως συναισθηματική και κοινωνική απομάκρυνση. Ο θεατής καλείται να περιπλανηθεί σε έναν χώρο όπου η πρόοδος έχει σβήσει και τα ίχνη της έχουν μετατραπεί σε εικαστικά τεκμήρια. Η εργασία μου δεν αρνείται την τεχνολογία, αλλά την παρατηρεί με επίγνωση. Μέσα από την αισθητική της φθοράς, την επιλογή «φτωχών» υλικών και την κυκλική δομή, επιχειρώ να δημιουργήσω μια αφήγηση για την μνήμη, την αποξένωση και την ανάγκη επαναπροσδιορισμού της σχέσης μας με το ψηφιακό περιβάλλον. Η τέχνη, σε αυτό το πλαίσιο, λειτουργεί ως αρχείο, ως προειδοποίηση και ως ερώτημα για το τι σημαίνει να είμαστε άνθρωποι σε έναν κόσμο που αλλάζει.
Abstract in english
My series of works entitled “Digital Desert” is a visual exploration of the landscape that is born when technology is stripped of human presence. It is a metaphor for the digital world as a desert, not as an absence of life, but as an oversaturation of information that leads to isolation, disconnection and ultimately silence. It is also based on a visual and philosophical exploration of the relationship between humans and technology, through the concept of the digital desert. My works combine digital media with various techniques, creating hybrid images that resemble the remnants of a civilization that has collapsed within its own hyper-connection. They are made of pieces of skin, a living, vulnerable, human material, combined with technological remains: cables, circuits, shattered screens, motherboards, etc. Each composition functions as a memory imprint of a moment frozen in time, where technology no longer serves man, but has surpassed him. My philosophy is not to condemn technology. On the contrary, I recognize that it has brought us this far. However, I want to show that every progress also has a material, social, emotional imprint. The circles I use are concentric and are divided into four visible sections. Within a concentric circle, two lines, one horizontal and one vertical, intersect the space and divide it into four semicircles. This form is not simply a geometric pattern, but a symbolic field, a map of internal and external navigation. The horizontal line that starts from the starting point of the circle, traces the course of man through time and digital reality. The vertical line that crosses the circle from the sky-earth axis, functions as a vertical axis of meaning, symbolizing the human form or presence within infinity. In some circles I incorporate skin in desert colors, red and blue, the first symbolizing dryness, lifelessness, alienation; the second, tension, danger, warning, and the third, calmness, serenity, detachment, coldness, depth and contemplation. The skin in my works functions as a carrier of experience. It is the trace of the human, the imprint of touch, wound, contact. Technological remains, on the contrary, are cold, lifeless, disconnected from their original purpose. When I unite them, I do not try to reconcile them. On the contrary, I want to highlight the rupture. It is a space of introspection, it is not just a visual composition, it is an existential question. What remains when technology fades away? If progress is inevitable, then consciousness is necessary. And art can be the medium that calls us to remember before we forget. Through my works, I attempt to capture this existential anguish, but also to search for nuggets of hope, small cracks where human experience can find space again. This series is an invitation to reflection: What does the desert look like when it is made of light, code and silence? And what does it mean to be human in it?

Brief Bio
Γεννήθηκα και μεγάλωσα στην Κύπρο, όπου και ολοκλήρωσα τη δευτεροβάθμια εκπαίδευσή μου. Με έντονη κλίση προς τις τέχνες και τον σχεδιασμό, σπούδασα Σχεδιασμό Μόδας (Fashion Design), αναπτύσσοντας μια ιδιαίτερη αισθητική που συνδυάζει την υλικότητα, τη φόρμα και την αφήγηση. Η δημιουργική μου πορεία με οδήγησε σε εικαστικά έργα που υπερβαίνουν τα όρια της μόδας, εξερευνώντας τη σχέση του ανθρώπου με την τεχνολογία, τη μνήμη και τη φθορά. Στα έργα μου, η υλικότητα της μόδας συναντά τη γλυπτική και την εγκατάσταση, δημιουργώντας πολυεπίπεδες εμπειρίες για τον θεατή.
Με αφετηρία την Κύπρο και έμπνευση από τον διεθνή καλλιτεχνικό χώρο, συνεχίζω να αναζητώ νέες μορφές έκφρασης που συνδυάζουν το αισθητικό με το εννοιολογικό, δημιουργώντας έργα που λειτουργούν ως καθρέφτης της εποχής μας.
